Green Bell Pepper, Dried Tomato and Poppy Seeds Cake

This is a savory cake

Green Bell Pepper, Sun Dried Tomato and Poppy Seeds Cake

Ingredients:-

1                 cup non-fat (skim) milk
1/3              cup vegetable oil
2                 egg whites
2                 cups all-purpose flour
1.1/2           tbsp sugar
3                 tsp baking powder
1/2              tsp salt
1/4              tsp ground pepper
1/4              cup diced green bell pepper (or any colour of your choice)
1/4              cup diced sun drid tomato
1/4              cup chopped spring onion (scallion)
1                  tsp dried basil leave or 2 tbsp chopped fresh basil leaves
1/4               cup poppy seeds
1/4               cup grated cheese
a handful     grated cheese for topping

Methods:-

1.  Heat oven to 375 degree F.

2.  Beat milk, oil and egg whites in a large mixing bowl with fork.  Stir in remaining ingredients (except the handful of cheese) just until flour is moistened (untill a soft consistency).

3.  Pour the batter into a lightly greased cake pan.  Sprinkle with cheese on top.

4.  Baked for 45 mins or until cake is cooked when a toothpick is inserted and comes out clean.

5.  Transfer to a wire rack.  Serve warm.
